زمینه: شرم یک هیجان بنیادینِ خودآگاه است که در جوامع جمع‌گرا مانند ایران، فراتر از یک احساس فردی عمل کرده و به‌عنوان یک ارزش فرهنگی و عاملی تنظیم‌کننده برای رفتار اجتماعی شناخته می‌شود. با وجود اهمیت نظری و کاربردی این مفهوم، در ادبیات پژوهشی ایران شکافی در زمینه «فرایند اجتماعی‌شدن شرم در دختران نوجوان» وجود دارد.
هدف: هدف پژوهش حاضر، طراحی و تبیین الگوی اجتماعی‌کردن هیجان شرم برای دختران نوجوان بود.
روش: این پژوهش با رویکرد آمیخته متوالی اکتشافی، در بخش کیفی با روش نظریۀ داده‌بنیاد و در بخش کمی (اعتباریابی) با روش مدل‌یابی معادلات ساختاری انجام شد. جامعۀ مورد مطالعه پژوهش در بخش کیفی شامل تمامی دختران نوجوان 12 تا 15 ساله ساکن شهر کاشان و مادران آن‌ها در سال 1403 بود که با استفاده از روش نمونه‌گیری هدفمند، اولین نوجوان و مادر وی انتخاب شده و سپس روند نمونه‌گیری تا رسیدن داده‌ها به فرایند اشباع (تعداد 15 نفر) تداوم پیدا کرد. در بخش کیفی، داده‌ها با استفاده از مصاحبه‌های نیمه ساختار یافته جمع‌آوری شدند. جامعۀ آماری در بخش کمی نیز شامل تمامی دختران نوجوان 12 تا 15 ساله شهر کاشان بود که با روش در دسترس، 175 نفر از آنان انتخاب شد. تحلیل داده‌ها در بخش کیفی بر اساس نسخۀ استراوس و کوربین (۲۰۱۵) در سه مرحله کدگذاری باز، محوری و انتخابی و با استفاده از نرم‌افزار  MAXQDA-2022انجام شد. در بخش کمی نیز برای اعتبارسنجی مدل استخراج‌ شده از مرحلۀ کیفی، از روش مدل‌یابی معادلات ساختاری و نرم‌افزارSmartPLS-4   استفاده شد.  
یافته­ها: در تحلیل داده‌های این پژوهش، ۸۳ کد باز، ۲۲ مقوله فرعی و ۶ مقوله اصلی شامل «بافت اجتماعی- فرهنگی» ، «خانواده و روابط نزدیک» ، «بسترهای نهادی- تربیتی»، «الگوهای فردی و بین‌فردی»، «ساز وکارهای بازتولید و مواجهه با شرم» و «پیامدهای روانی- اجتماعی» و در نهایت، یک مقوله هسته‌ای تحت عنوان «بازآفرینی هویت عاطفی دختران نوجوان در بستر اجتماعی ‌شدن هیجان شرم» شناسایی شد. برای اعتبارسنجی مدل استخراج‌ شده از مرحلۀ کیفی، پرسش‌نامه‌ای که از مرحلۀ کیفی استخراج شده بود در اختیار 10 نفر از متخصصان روان‌شناسی قرار داده شد که برای آن، میزان نسبت روایی محتوا (CVR) ۷۲/۰ و شاخص روایی محتوایی (CVI)  نیز برای همۀ گویه‌ها بیش از ۸۰/۰ به دست آمد که هر دو شاخص مؤید برخورداری ابزار از روایی محتوایی مطلوب بود. هم‌چنین شاخص نیکویی برازش (GOF) برای مدل استخرج شده در بخش کیفی برابر با  ۲۹۳/۰ محاسبه شد که در سطح مطلوب ارزیابی می‌شود.
نتیجه‌گیری: این مدل علاوه بر نوآوری نظری، چارچوبی کاربردی برای والدین، مربیان و نهادهای فرهنگی فراهم می‌آورد تا اجتماعی‌سازی سازگار شرم را در جهت ارتقای تاب‌آوری، خودکارآمدی، رشد اخلاقی و سلامت روان دختران نوجوان هدایت کنند.
