Health is the most basic part of social welfare, which is more dependent on social structures than medical interventions.

Methods: The design of the current research was a semi-experimental type of pre-test, post-test with a control group and a three-month follow-up. The statistical population of the study included all patients with type 2 diabetes referred to Dr. Sharqi diabetes clinic in Karaj city in the first half of 2022. Using available sampling method, 60 patients were selected and then they were randomly divided into three groups of 20 people (two experimental groups and one control group). The instrument used in this research was the social health questionnaire (Keyes, 2004). Also, for the first experimental group, emotional-oriented cognitive-behavioral therapy in 10 sessions of 90 minutes based on the protocol of Sovag et al. (2006), for the second experimental group, metacognitive therapy in 10 sessions of 90 minutes based on the protocol of Rajabi et al. (2021) was held.
