زمینه: گسترش استفاده از فضای مجازی و پیامدهای منفی ناشی از آن  به چالشی روان‌شناختی و اجتماعی تبدیل شده است. اعتیاد به اینترنت به‌عنوان متغیر ملاک می‌تواند با آشفتگی روان‌شناختی مرتبط باشد، در حالی‌که خودکارآمدی هیجانی به‌عنوان متغیر میانجی می‌تواند این روابط را تعدیل کرده و از شدت تأثیرات منفی بکاهد. با این حال، خلأ پژوهشی در بررسی نقش خودکارآمدی هیجانی در این روابط، به‌ویژه در بافت فرهنگی و اجتماعی ایران، و کمبود مطالعات بومی در این زمینه مشهود است.
هدف: پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی الگوی روابط ساختاری اعتیاد به فضای مجازی با آشفتگی روان‌شناختی ، با تأکید بر نقش میانجی خودکارآمدی هیجانی، انجام شد.
روش: این مطالعه از نظر هدف بنیادی، و از نظر روش اجرا توصیفی-همبستگی است. جامعه آماری شامل تمامی دانشجویان دانشگاه محقق اردبیلی در سال تحصیلی ۱۴۰۳-۱۴۰۴ بود که با روش نمونه‌گیری تصادفی خوشه‌ای و بر اساس تعداد پارامتر های مدل فرضی ، ۳۰۰ نفر به‌عنوان نمونه انتخاب شدند. ابزارهای گردآوری داده شامل مقیاس اعتیاد به اینترنت( یانگ، 1998)، مقیاس خودکارآمدی هیجانی(بورلی و همکاران،1997)، مقیاس افسردگی، اضطراب و استرس ( لاویبوند و لاویبوند (1995) ،بودند. روش‌های تحلیل معادلات ساختاری با استفاده از دو نرم افزار  24-  SPSS وAmos –26   بود.
یافته­ها: تحلیل داده‌ها با استفاده از مدل‌یابی معادلات ساختاری نشان داد که آشفتگی روان‌شناختی (53/42,β=69/17T =  , 001/0p< ) اثر مستقیم و مثبت معناداری بر اعتیاد به اینترنت دارند. همچنین، خودکارآمدی هیجانی اثر مستقیم منفی بر اعتیاد به اینترنت نشان داد (12/3- ,β= 89/2 -T=  ,000/0=p ) و به‌طور نسبی نقش میانجی در روابط بین آشفتگی روان‌شناختی با اعتیاد به اینترنت ایفا کرد. شاخص‌های برازش مدل (96/0,GFI=075/0RMSEA=) بیانگر برازش مطلوب الگو بودند.
نتیجه‌گیری: یافته‌ها بر اهمیت توجه به متغیرهای هیجانی و شناختی در پیشگیری و کاهش اعتیاد به فضای مجازی در دانشجویان تأکید دارد و پیشنهاد می‌شود برنامه‌های آموزشی و مداخلات مشاوره‌ای با محوریت تقویت خودکارآمدی هیجانی طراحی و اجرا شوند.
