زمینه: افسردگی در سالمندان یکی از چالش‌های مهم سلامت روان است. علی‌رغم پژوهش‌های گسترده درباره افسردگی در سالمندان، خلأ قابل‌توجهی در بررسی نقش نگرانی‌های وجودی، به‌ویژه در سالمندانی که تجربه آسیب‌دیدگی دارند، و اثربخشی درمان‌های مبتنی بر بهبود روابط بین‌فردی در کاهش این مشکلات وجود دارد. درمان بین‌فردی به‌عنوان یک رویکرد روان‌درمانی مبتنی بر بهبود روابط بین‌فردی و کاهش نشانه‌های افسردگی، پتانسیل مؤثری در کاهش این مشکلات دارد.
هدف: بنابراین پژوهش حاضر باهدف بررسی اثربخشی درمان بین‌فردی بر نگرانی‌های وجودی و نشانه‌های افسردگی در سالمندان باتجربه آزاردیدگی انجام شد.
روش: روش این پژوهش از نوع پیش‌آزمون - پس‌آزمون با گروه گواه و پیگیری دوماهه بود. جامعه آماری شامل تمامی سالمندان افسرده باتجربه آزاردیدگی ساکن شهر قزوین در سال 1402 بود. با استفاده از روش نمونه‌گیری هدفمند 20 سالمند افسرده باتجربه آزاردیدگی ساکن شهر قزوین که بر اساس نمره برش 21 در پرسش‌نامه افسردگی بک و نمره برش 4 و بالاتر در پرسش‌نامه سالمند والک و سنگ استاک (1987) و مصاحبه بالینی شناسایی شدند و در گروه آزمایش درمان بین‌فردی و گروه گواه با همتاسازی جنسیت جای‌دهی شدند (هر گروه 10 نفر). در پژوهش حاضر از پرسش‌نامه‌های پرسش‌نامه افسردگی (بک،1994) و نگرانی‌های وجودی (بروگن و همکاران،2017) استفاده شد. گروه آزمایش به مدت 12 جلسه درمان بین‌فردی کلرمن و وایزمن را دریافت کردند. جهت تحلیل داده‌ها از آزمون تحلیل واریانس با اندازه‌گیری مکرر با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSS-26 استفاده شد.
یافته ها: نتایج نشان داد که درمان بین‌فردی بر نگرانی‌های وجودی و نشانه‌های افسردگی تأثیر (001/0 <P) داشته و این تأثیر در دوره پیگیری نیز پایدار بود (001/0 >P).
نتیجه‌گیری: یافته‌های این پژوهش اهمیت درمان بین‌فردی را به‌عنوان یک روش مؤثر در بهبود وضعیت روانی و اجتماعی سالمندان افسرده مورد تأکید قرار می‌دهد و پیشنهاد میشود که این روش در برنامه‌های درمانی برای این گروه سنی گنجانده شود.
